Tulloch Park

Tulloch Park has always been Mataura's principal sports ground. The 9.7 hectares are home to the

  • Mataura Rugby Club
  • Mataura Gun Club

There are two rugby fields, with training lights on the westernmost field, the rugby club's rooms and a grandstand which was relocated from the nearby all-weather hockey turf in 2014.

One of the newer additions to Tulloch Park is a pump track. A pump track is a continuous loop of round bumps and banked turns you ride by pumping, not pedalling.

The Mataura Pump Track is considered a Grade 2 - easy trail. This grade is based on the Kennett Brothers grading system, widely used by New Zealand riders.

Public toilets, picnic tables and a BBQ near the pump track make this an ideal family destination.

The park's attractions include a fitness track around the two rugby fields and a basketball half-court at the old tennis courts.

The Mataura Gun Club occupies the western part of the reserve with a shooting range and clubroom.

The Mataura Volunteer Fire Brigade also calls Tulloch Park home for its practice nights and competition days.

The Mataura Pump Track is asphalted and includes three levels to cater for different riding abilities.
