Kāhui Whetū
Wednesday 8 July & Thursday 9 July
The Event
Join us at Kāhui Whetū for a magical night!
See the Gore Gardens transform as we illuminate them with a sparkling light display. Make sure you wrap up cosy and warm, as this winter event takes full advantage of those dark, crisp and early nights.
For the first time, on Wednesday evening, the Gore Gardens will open for a quiet night of lights from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. With just the illuminated gardens and no additional entertainment, this relaxed evening offers a chance to enjoy the light display at your own pace; perfect for those who prefer a calmer atmosphere, including older visitors, families with young children, or anyone who finds large crowds and loud noises overwhelming.
Then on Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, experience Kāhui Whetū in full as Gore Gardens come alive with a sparkling light display, vibrant entertainment, and family-friendly activities, plus the perfect setting to capture stunning photos. Enjoy delicious kai from local vendors and treat the whānau to neon face painting, UV light art, and more glowing fun.
