Nicknamed the Goreggenheim, the Eastern Southland Gallery has a formidable collection for a town the size of Gore, well worth a visit for art lovers.
It features the international art collection of expatriate New Zealander Dr John Money, and a large body of artwork by leading contemporary New Zealand artist Ralph Hotere.
The Gallery also hosts a programme of regularly changing temporary exhibitions, and some live performances.
For more art visit the Fire Station Gallery across the road or the Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre in Mandeville where there are temporary exhibitions in the foyer. Entry is free.
