Whether your interest be walking, mountain biking, camping, gardens or you just want somewhere to take the kids for a play, Dolamore Park is a magic spot.

Set in the Hokonui Hills just 10 minutes’ drive from Gore, the park features walking tracks for all abilities, a playground with flying fox, and a nearby mountain bike track that will soon extend to the park.

As well as 95 hectares of native podocarp forest, there are two arboretums, one featuring a substantial collection of conifers, as well as large plantings of rhododendrons.

To truly experience the park, stay overnight and wake to the beautiful native bird chorus.

Given Gore is a motorhome friendly town, there are 22 powered sites in the park and a dump station on site. There are gas barbecues for campers to use (free of charge), as well as a kitchen, shower, and basic toilet facilities.

At night time, enjoy the dark night sky or venture into the whisky creek track to view glow worms along the trail.

Cellphone reception at the park is limited.
