Gore Multisports Complex

If sport is your thing, boy do we have the facilities for you at the Gore Multisports Complex.

Featuring the Gore Aquatic Centre with 25m pool, the four-court MLT Event Centre, Ice Sports Southland ice rink and just outside, the Eastern Southland Hockey water turf.

Gore Aquatic Centre

Rest up in the hydrotherapy pool, get fit in the swimming lanes, or play in the leisure pool. The Gore Aquatic Centre has all your swimming needs covered – you can even purchase goggles, caps and swimwear. Featuring an eight-lane 25m pool, a leisure pool, including a toddler's pool, raindrop, water fountains, walk-in beach area, bubble pit & sprays.

Gore has a swim school, with professional swimming coach, aquafit and aqua jogging classes. Swimming lessons for all primary school-aged children are free of charge. Inflatable toys are available in the main and leisure pools every weekend and in school holidays.

Gore Hockey Turf

Eastern Southland Hockey Association comprises four clubs and has excellent facilities, including an outdoor water turf, which is located within the Gore Multisports Complex parking area.

Eastern Southland Hockey Association is made up of the following hockey clubs - Hokonui, Mataura and Riversdale.

Gore has played host to national hockey competitions.

Ice skating

Ice sports Southland Ice Rink

Experience the chills, thrills, speed and elegance of figure skating, speed skating, curling and ice hockey at Southland’s only ice rink.

The Ice Sports Southland ice rink is independently owned and operated by its members and lessons for all ages and disciplines are available.

Join an Ice Hockey team or try social curling. Private and group sessions are available.
Public skate sessions are available on Saturday and Sunday.

MLT Event Centre

A four-court stadium, including one sprung wooden court, is available for individuals and groups to hire. It can be used for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, tennis and several other sports. Equipment for archery tag, laser tag, soccer darts and zorb balls and a SNAG golf driving range is also available. During Winter it is the home of Eastern Southland netball, and on Saturdays is a hive of activity.

It has also played host to major events including the Young Farmer of the Year final, a music fundraiser concert featuring top NZ bands. It can be converted to accommodate a variety of sports, events and trade shows.
