Event Details

Toru is a new trio consisting of three principal players from Orchestra Wellington - Karen Batten (flute), Sophia Acheson (viola), and Ingrid Bauer (harp)

Debussy popularised this combination of flute, viola, and harp with his Sonate en trio; its varied timbral palette has since captured the imaginations of composers, performers, and audiences alike.

This concert will also include a new composition by Wellington based composer Tabea Squire.

Programme:

DEBUSSY | Sonate pour flûte, alto e harpe

ARNOLD BAX | Fantasy Sonata

TABEA SQUIRE | New Work

BEETHOVEN arr. Maayani | Serenade in D, op. 25
