A Relatively Uneventful EveningBy: West Otago Theatrical Society
06-Jul-2019, 9:30 PM West Otago Community Centre, 3 Suffolk Street, Tapanui $35
This black comedy is a world premiere, written and directed by George Arthur-Amohau.
The play explores the relationship between a group of somewhat dysfunctional friends who gather for a dinner party to celebrate the publishing of one of the group’s first book.
During the evening many things are realised about each other and they have to field what develops as it all unfolds
After years of hard work and countless rejections, Eleanor's first book is finally published. Her closest, and rather eccentric, friend, Addison - who has sworn not to throw a party in her honour - promises an event of conservative proportions and "close friends" only. What ensues is an evening of dysfunction, drama and dismay as secrets are are outed, dreams are shattered and relationships are stretched to their limits.
