Bilingual StoryWalk 'I whakaaro noa au...'

To celebrate Te Wiki o te reo Māori / Māori Language Week, the new StoryWalk® features two exciting firsts:

  • A bilingual book layout with te reo Māori and English sentences.
  • An Augmented Reality app (via QR code) to hear the story in te reo as you go, read by local tutor Whaea Jaki Eales.

‘I whakaaro noa au…’ was written and illustrated by Kay Mortimer who grew up in Gore. The cute, brightly coloured illustrations were created by Kay and her mokopuna (grandchildren).

There are activity sheets for ages 0-5 and 5-12 years at the end of the StoryWalk®. Drop the completed activity sheets at the Gore Library and be in to win a signed copy of the book.
