Busking Information

We welcome you to freeze your bits off in Gore. You could be in to win $1000!

Please note: If you have taken part in the Freeze Ya Bits Off Busking competition previously, there are changes to this year’s event, so please read this information carefully.

This year ALL buskers will compete outdoors (otherwise you won’t be judged). We have a limited number of busking locations available, so first in gets a spot!

The top finalists in each category, as chosen by our secret judges, will perform in the finals. The finals will also be held outdoors on Medway Street between Howl at the Moon and the Thomas Green. Finalists will perform on a raised stage.

Registration for the event this year is online only. Payment is via PayPal.

Schools competition: Please email Mallory Hood for information on how to enter. Email mallory.hood@stmarys.school.nz

Categories and entry fees:

Includes one re-useable hand warmer per entry. Additional hand warmers can be purchased from the Gore Visitor Centre.

Buskers will be allocated their busking location on either Irk Street or Main Street, Gore.

A busker information pack including your busking number, complimentary hand warmer and voucher for a hot beverage at the Thomas Green, can be picked up at the Gore Visitor Centre on the day you are busking between 10.00am and 11.30am.

To be eligible for prizes you must be available to perform at the finals.

Saturday 2 June, 2.30pm (following truck parade) to 4.30pm (approximately)

Finalists will be notified by text message by 2.15pm on Saturday 2 June and invited to perform at the finals on Medway Street Gore from 2.30pm that day. Only finalists will be notified. A list of finalists will also be published on Facebook.com/FreezeYaBitsBusking.
