We have a well-supported retail sector, with a Council-supported GoRetail group and its Love Gore Shop Local campaigns and online retail.

GoRetail was started by the Gore District Council in 2016. Its ultimate goal is to make Gore New Zealand’s most commercially resilient provincial town, by making Gore a great place to do business.
It aims to establish consistent opening hours, help retailers build digital presence, support and advocate for local businesses and to retain consumer spending in Gore.
You'll find most stores in town proudly display a Love Gore Shop Local sticker on their window.

With ultra-fast broadband available from this year, there is huge opportunity for basing a web-based business here with little in the way of overheads.

Visit the Chorus website to view a map of where ultra-fast broadband is being rolled out.

For any businesses that don’t have their own website, the Stores of Gore website is available. It has a business and product directory.
Whether you're looking for fashion and retail, cafes and restaurants, or the latest farm gear, you'll find all the Gore town information you need there.
