High Schools

We have two high schools within the District. Gore High School is a year 9 to 13 co-educational, multi course school. St Peter’s College is a Catholic co-educational year 7 to 13 school and offers boarding facilities. Both schools offer tuition for international students. Blue Mountain College in Tapanui and Menzies College in Wyndham are just out of the District, providing choice for those living more rurally.

Tertiary

The Southern Institute of Technology Gore campus offers courses based on local demand and includes a range of programmes ranging from hospitality to computing, building and construction Te Ara Reo Maori and art for leisure. Some courses are eligible for the zero fees scheme.

For a broader range of courses, SIT’s main campus is just a 45 minute drive away in Invercargill.
